Man That Killed 11-Year-Old Boy in Hit and Run Turns Himself In

An 11-year-old boy was killed over the weekend in a hit-and-run collision with a car near 35th avenue and Indian School Road.  The boy was walking with his mother through the parking lot of an apartment complex on Saturday evening when he was hit by a man backing up his vehicle.  The man then helped to remove the body from underneath the car, and walked away from the scene.  The boy was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Mabior Ding, 32, turned himself in on Tuesday morning and is being held on manslaughter charges, as well as for leave the scene of a fatal collision.

Evidence at the scene indicates that Ding failed to remove security devices from the car’s steering wheel and brake pedal before operating the vehicle, which prevented him from being able to steer or stop the vehicle.
